Tracing the Invisible

Wooden furniture - Shenzen

Situated in the lobby of a corporate headquarters in Shenzhen, the project stands at the intersection of virtual simulation and physical fabrication, offering a renewed approach to furniture design through advanced digital manufacturing. In response to the need for a distinctive and meaningful intervention, projected particles were used to generate virtual trails, tracing potential seating layouts that align both spatially and atmospherically with the interior environment. These dynamic paths — born from digital motion and refined through simulation — were transformed into sculptural wooden seating elements of both aesthetic and functional significance. What begins as an abstract digital gesture materializes into a tactile, site-specific installation that redefines the experience of the lobby space.
