Blow, Blew, Blown is a design proposal for the “Shape The Future Of Black”, a DuPont Corian international design competition. By capturing wind flow over the time the project presents a collection of 3 panels celebrating the beauty of fluids.
Made of small rectangular scales of Corian® DeepColour™ and acoustical fabric the panels sublime the beauty of fluid instant through various subtle deep black contrast and moire effect. By combining reflective and absorbant materials it also invites to an unexpected acoustical experience conducted by the randomness of the shape.
Beyond the visual complexity of the project the fabrication process of the panel is simple. A positive mold is CNC machined, Corian® DeepColour™ rectangular scales are thermoformed then CNC finished and assembly on steel cables. Each string of scales is then assembled and tight on frame. At the boundary of static and dynamic design Blow, Blew, Blown project highlights the full versatility of the Corian® combined with advanced digital process.
